Lamkang Naga are a scheduled tribe predominantly Christians. They are one of the oldest nineteen Naga tribes living in Manipur in the district of Chandel. According to the 2001 census the population of the Lamkang in Manipur was 4524. They are recognized as a scheduled tribe of Manipur by the government of India since 1956. The New Testament was published through the Bible Society of India in 2002. The Old Testament Translation is in the process and hope to complete soon.
